He started in the automotive business in 1979 working in his family's dealership in Pittsburgh, PA. As the past chairman of the Florida Automobile Dealers and the current Chairman to the National Automobile Dealers Association and Time Magazine Dealer of the Year.

Scott Bell
(Vice-President of Global Chevrolet)

Scott Bell was appointed vice president of Global Chevrolet in April 2022, bringing with him more than three decades of experience across the GM enterprise. Scott has overseen the launch of several critical new vehicles — including the Equinox EV, Blazer EV and Silverado EV, and the all-new Chevrolet Trax, Equinox, and Traverse — while logging thousands of miles to strengthen relationships and alignment with Chevrolet dealers nationwide.

Before this role, Scott served as president and managing director of GM Canada, where he led the organization through one of the more complex periods in recent history. Under his leadership, GM Canada achieved profitable sales growth, strengthened its dealer relationships, and played a vital role in the nation’s initial pandemic response — including the production of 10 million face masks for the Government of Canada. He also led significant investments in Canadian manufacturing operations, including the reopening of Oshawa Assembly and the conversion of CAMI Assembly into Canada’s first large-scale EV plant, producing BrightDrop’s electric delivery vans.

This marks Scott’s second chapter with Chevrolet. In 2013, he served as Director of U.S. Sales Operations, where he helped make Chevrolet the most awarded and fastest-growing brand in the industry. He led efforts to grow retail share and significantly improved the brand’s alignment between national strategy and local dealer execution.

Today, under Scott’s leadership, Chevrolet is the only major brand to post three consecutive years of market share growth — while also becoming the fastest-growing EV brand in the industry.

A Michigan native, Scott started his GM career in 1989 and has held a variety of Sales, Service, and Marketing roles across the GM brands, including Fleet, Commercial, and Buick GMC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in automotive management from Ferris State University and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.

Outside of work, Scott is passionate about outdoor sports, health and fitness, and has a love for classic cars. His favorite GM vehicle? The iconic Chevy K5 Blazer.

“I love leading Chevrolet because the brand exemplifies who I am.”
