AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN TASK FORCE

INFORMATION & RESOURCES FOR DEALERS

In April of 2019, our former Governor, Andrew Cuomo, announced the formation of the Excelsior Automotive Technician Task Force to address the severe shortage of auto technicians and provide quality career opportunities for New Yorkers. This announcement was made during a NYSADA Directors breakfast meeting, hosted by the Governor at the Executive Mansion. This Task Force which is jointly chaired by DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder together with NYSADA’s Bob Vancavage and GNYADA’s Mark Schienberg, includes representation from all of the state’s dealer associations as well as many of the community colleges offering auto tech programs.
