Since 2017, Anders has been Head of the Volvo Car Group within the Americas Region, and President and CEO of Volvo Car USA LLC. His area of responsibility spans more than 20 countries. With deep knowledge of the strengths and efficiencies of a holistic value chain, Anders is skilled in his ability to capture value throughout the entire ownership cycle. He is also a relentless advocate for driving unparalleled customer experience, and believes it will be the factor that paves the path for Volvo Cars’ future success. Over the course of his career, Anders has progressed through the ranks of business, operating in a myriad of automotive industry segments. In parallel, Anders has chaired and formed parts of boards, financial institutions, and IT organizations. Together, these experiences have shaped in Anders a robust, rounded understanding of the global automotive industry and the sectors adjacent to it – including financial and digital. Throughout his career, Anders has successfully spearheaded and executed multiple industry-wide transformation initiatives, with Carsharing Mobility as one of many examples of a pioneered, consumer-centric service.
Charles is a seasoned quantitative analyst and researcher with over 25 years of experience utilizing data to identify industry trends and opportunities. He is focused on expanding the Cox Automotive's research and analysis initiatives, and on the economic and industry outlook for vehicle sales.
Charles comes to Cox after working as Senior Economist at OESA, the automotive supplier trade association, and IHS Automotive where he was Director of Industry Analysis and Senior Economist. At IHS, Charles was responsible for developing and integrating statistical models and economic scenarios into IHS global automotive forecasts.
Charles has also worked for Ford Motor Company's marketing strategy group as well for a number of technology start-up companies. He began his career as a floor trader at the Chicago Board of Trade.
He has won many economic forecasting accuracy awards and is a board member and former President of the Detroit Association for Business Economics and a member of the National Association for Business Economics, the Federal Reserve Bank Automotive Roundtable, and the Society of Automotive Analysts
Devon was raised in the slums of Kingston, Jamaica, yet he graduated from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England and served as an officer in the Jamaica Defence Force. The greatest gift Devon Harris ever received was the belief that a positive attitude and a never say die philosophy would carry him farther than a sense of injustice and a heart filled with anger. He started off as a barefoot boy trying to win a track race and became a Captainof his country’s first Olympic Bobsled Team. Their exploits inspired the Disney blockbuster movie Cool Runnings.
Circumstances and others constantly told Devon Harris it was impossible but at every step of the way, he kept on pushing and found a way to make it possible. Since his days on the bobsled slope, Devon Harris has become a top motivational speaker and author, sharing his philosophy of Keep On Pushing and never stop dreaming with Fortune 100 companies across many industries. In addition to his work as a top Olympic motivational speaker, he is also the founder and CEO of the Keep On Pushing Foundation, a New York based charity focused on helping children in disadvantaged communities receive a quality education. Devon Harris has been inducted as an Olympian For Life by the World Olympian Association for his significant contribution to society
Michael Alford is president of Marine Chevrolet Cadillac in Jacksonville, N.C. He entered the car business in 1992 after a career in banking. He joined his father-in-law in the family business, working in all departments while attending the NADA Dealer Academy and purchased the dealership in 1997. In 2010 he was appointed to the North Carolina Board of Transportation. In 2013 he was the TIME Dealer of the Year Award winner for North Carolina and national winner.
As a dealer principal and president of a Volvo-Volkswagen dealership, Dick was a charter member of a NADA 20 Group for 22 years. Dick has worked with various manufacturers, offering expertise in all aspects of dealership operations, and frequently presents on dealership best practices, financial statement management, new and used cars, and fixed operations. Dick will bring us up to speed on “the best of 20 groups” for the benefit of your dealership operation.
Leonard Bellavia is a Senior Partner at the law firm Bellavia Blatt, PC and nationally recognized authority in the field of automotive franchise law. Leonard has achieved national recognition for advocating the mass action litigation model on behalf of franchised automobile dealers and has implemented this strategy in several notable cases. He currently serves as an outside counsel to NYSADA.
Hermes Fernandez is a partner of the 230 attorney law firm Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC where he has practiced law for over 25 years. For the last 20 years Hermes has represented NYSADA before the State Government and represented dealers in administrative matters before the DMV, lemon law arbitrations, audit matters and in government investigations.
Louis Young is the director of Retail Automotive Client Services with Withum. He manages business practice issues, regulatory oversight issues and state tax compliance. He also provides assistance with business brokering and business development. Lou assists NYSADA with state regulatory oversight issues, including general compliance, consumer affairs and sales tax issues..
